About Us

Hop··Go logo

Our story began with a simple idea: to reimagine how visual impairment is seen.

Two friends, living an ocean apart but connected by a shared passion for inclusivity and creativity. In one of our long-distance conversations, we realized that products designed for people with low vision were often practical, but rarely modern or colorful.

We set out to change that through our mission by creating stylish, contemporary items that let people proudly express their visual impairment. We started small, with stickers and pins that celebrate and destigmatize difference. Now, through collaborations with talented artists, we’re building a collection of designs that bring visibility in a positive, inspiring way.

At Hop-Go, we believe accessibility and aesthetics belong together. Join us as we transform the way visual impairment is represented and celebrated.

Natja

Natja's pictu

Natja is an ergonomist and a rehabilitation specialist in visual impairment with nearly 20 years of experience. After emigrating to France in 2017, she continued her career at a rehabilitation center for children with a visual impairment. Passionate about innovation and problem-solving, she founded Va, Vis, DV in 2019—an online service platform designed to address the shortage of visual rehabilitation professionals through interventions and training.

In 2024, driven by her vision to modernize the perception of visual impairment, she co-founded Hop-Go with Rebecca. Natja is never short of projects, each one focused on creating or developing innovative and inclusive professional practices.

Her favorite saying is: "You never go as far as when you don’t know where you’re going" (Christopher Columbus). This quote perfectly reflects Natja’s spirit of discovery and exploration, as well as her boldness in venturing into the unknown to find new solutions and opportunities.

Rebecca

Rebecca has been a Visual Impairment Rehabilitation Specialist (VIR) for nearly 15 years and will soon be graduating with a degree in Orientation and Mobility. Passionate and full of projects, she has been developing her entrepreneurial career since 2019 with Vision-R Inc. Certified by C.L.V.T., Rebecca is also a lecturer at the Université de Montréal and a consultant in the Quebec healthcare network. In 2021, she co-founded Hop-Go with Natja, continuing her commitment to innovation and inclusivity.

One of Rebecca's main goals is to improve the quality of life of people living with visual impairments. Surrounded by committed and concerned friends and colleagues, she relies on the Hop-Go product user panel to ensure their needs are heard and met. A phrase that reflects her approach, "Individual actions create waves of collective change," aptly captures Rebecca's vision. Dedicated and committed, she travels across Quebec, from the North Shore to Abitibi, supporting people living with visual impairments.

Despite the sometimes different realities of users in rural areas compared to those in large urban centers, the mission remains the same: it is important to meet the needs and aspirations of individuals in order to build a more inclusive and accessible world.
